Program Information
New Church Ministries is the Atlanta and McLean host site for the SHARE Food program. If you want to save big money and still feed your family top-quality, fresh food, then SHARE Food might be able to help you!
What is Share Food?
SHARE Food is a Christian organization out of Peoria that helps area families buy high quality food at greatly reduced prices. It's not a government-funded program or a handout. There are no income requirements and it's open to everyone. You don't have to be a member of New Church (or any church) to participate. The only requirement is that you be someone who eats (you probably qualify).
They purchase large quantities of quality food at a big discount and allow families to purchase it either as "packages" or individual items. You pre-order and pre-pay before the monthly deadline. Two weeks later, you in and pick up your food.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the food out of date or about to expire? No! The food is of the same quality (sometimes better) as you'd find in a grocery store.
Are there any strings attached? No. SHARE Food's slogan is "People Helping People". They do ask that those who are able perform a couple of hours of service to their community each week, not as a requirement to participate, but because they believe that community service has real value not only to the beneficiaries of the service, but to those who serve.
Do I have to attend church to order? No. We happen to be a church, but a variety of host sites across the state serve as host sites for the program. You just have to be someone who wants to stretch your food budget a little bit.
Where is the church? I don't know where to drop off my order form and payment? We currently meet at 9:30 on Sunday mornings at the Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Park District building in McLean (the old McLean grade school). But you can bring your order form and payment to the office of the church's webmaster at 106 N.W. Vine St. in Atlanta (the white house next door to Casey's and across from Gilbert's True Value). Anyone there can forward your order to the right person. We'll even be happy to help you fill out your order form if you need a hand.
There is generally somebody here from 8:30 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon, but it's a good idea to call. You can either call the church at (217) 648-2221 or call the webmaster's office at (217) 636-4166.
What if I can't make it out to the golf course to pick up my order? If you're elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to make it out to the golf course to pick up your order, just call the church at (217) 648-2221 and we'll figure out a way to get your food to you.

There are two ways to order your food:- Print and fill out an order form and hand it in by the ordering deadline.
- Use our online assistant. It will take you through the order step-by-step and fill your form out for you. All you'll have to do is print it and hand it in with your payment by the deadline.
